poser

this outfit is remarkably like the one i wore on sunday. i didn't really realize that until i uploaded the photos. i guess i like this look a lot right now.
i was reading this blog post yesterday that someone linked to on twitter and it was all about fashion bloggers signature poses and stuff. it was really funny because it was just spot on. the writer wasn't trying to be mean or anything, she is a fashion blogger herself. it just made me think about my signature. i do a lot of foot/leg crossing and hand on hip poses. do you guys find that you strike the same looks all the time, or do you vary yours? it's just interesting that we all have our thing. i think it's charming actually.
i am so excited about the response to the giveaway! i had no idea that so many people wanted one of those cameras. i wish i could give away a ton of them to all of you! wouldn't that be fun? i could be like oprah and give away something to all of my readers. of course, if i was oprah i'd have to be giving away cars and flat screen tvs. i don't think a piddly little film camera would cut it.

My signature poses are leaning back and/or lifting up one of my feet. I never know what to do with my hands. So awkward! I'm actually looking at blogs and magazines trying to figure out different ways to pose.

i really like your skirt, it's so perfect for this kind of weather.i can't even manage a signature pose. it is normally just sort of stand quite awkwardly somewhere where the camera can see me and look (again quite awkwardly) into the lens. and thank you for such a lovely comment!

I have a skirt like that, black with tiny white spots. and I am in LOVE with your boots! I've been searching for some cute flat boots forever, but I can't seem to find any in my size.

the skirt is really pretty, and the boots as well, love the outfit :)

I feel like I always do the same pose. I think since us gals are always in front of the camera, we knwo what looks best for ourselves and we just do that. I do a ton of leg crossing, hand on hip and a lot of looking down. I think I do these things to try and flatter my body shape.

Love your skirt and how you've paired it. So cool.

As for my photography, I'm trying to mix up my poses. I even leaned on a wall today! Digital is great because you can churn through loads of shots and ditch the ones you don't like. Also trying to vary by backdrops too. But despite all this, I have 3 or 4 standard poses.

I really like how you're wearing this skirt. It gives a girly touch to your outfit, and puts a new spin on those boots of yours. It seems kinda different than other skirts you wear, and I like that.

Do you still have the link to this post? It sounds like it's worth a read.

Hehe, you're comment about Oprah's giveaways makes me think of Dane Cook poking fun at her..."everyone here is gonna get humpback whales!!" haha.

How funny about signature poses! I've noticed some bloggers do have them! I don't think I do, but it could be the fact that I awkwardly try to smile and pose without feeling silly!

I usually do a number of poses and then pic the ones I like best and show of my outfit best, but I find, when I do it, I almost always pick photos where I have one hand up behind my head and I'm kind of standing on one of my feet with the other...does this makes any sense? You can see an example of this in my second picture on today's post:

BEAUTIFUL! You are so effortless in putting together outfits! Or...it seems that way at least! I love that pink frilly skirt- and I love how you dressed it down with a plain tee shirt and an amazing statement scarf. It's beautifffful.

Hahhaa. I like what you said about posing :) it's so true!

I still feel so awkward posing but I definitely have 2 main poses. So funny. I love that skirt on you, it is darling. I haven't read a ton of ee cummings but did have his poem, i carry you in my heart at our wedding. It was very romantic but not too cheesy.

also if you wanted to be more like Oprah you'd have to pause dramatically for way longer than feels appropriate and then write in all caps like YOURE ALLL GETTING HOLGA CAMERAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS and then wait for your adoring fans to chill the f*uck out. :)

I really like this skirt. I've almost bought it 20 different times - the purple version. I keep putting it back though due to something called a store opening. Whoopsies. When can I start buying my own clothes again!!?!?

I like to call any and all of my poses "obviously she feels weird in front of the camera". I'm working on a patent.

this post reminded me of a tumblr i found called "hipsters have to pee" referring to the silly ways we pose. it's a trip, you have to see.

You look gorgeous. i love how flirty this skirt is with all the ruffles and a soft pink is pretty high up on my list of colors right now too. it kind of reminds me of the skirt the 4 girls wore for the spring modcloth challenge recently.

Love the skirt. Did you get that recently? I think I saw in there not to long ago. It's so hard to tell if you like something until you see if on others.
