a little help from my friends

ok, guys. i need some help. i bought this skirt a bit ago for a buck-fiddy because i kinda wanted a long maxi type weird something. anyway, i'm just not sure about it. i wore it because that was the only way i could make up my mind. some things you just have to live with a bit before you can determine whether or not you need to toss it or embrace it. what do you guys think? it's fun to walk in because it swishes around my feet in a cool way. but when i was walking down to my shop and had my cool denim purse on and carrying my other stuff too i felt a bit like a hobo bag lady. then when i was sweeping the front entrance, i thought i was more 'little house on the prairie.' is it cool, or do i scrap it? please, i need your advice!
well, tonight matt and i are dropping the kid off at the grandparents' and heading out to party on the town. my best friend from high school just turned the big 3-0 and we're giving her a surprise bash. should be fun.
hope your night is grand.

I always like to pull long skirts up and belt them to make them look more like a dress:)

i think you are confident enough to pull it off, but honestly, i'm not one for the maxi style!

I don't think it looks "bag lady" in these photos, but I can imagine that it might in other settings. When I think of maxi dresses, I think of summer and florals and bright colors and an overall light feeling. I think the print of it might not be just right for what you were going for.

I'm loving the maxi skirt right about now. It has such a great woodstalk vibe, which I adore!

I just picked a few maxi skirts at goodwill not that long ago.. i love me a good high waisted pencil skirt because they were basically made for my body, but in an effort to get something fresh and different in my closet, I went for the length. And I personally love them. I think as long as you keep them a bit modern and dont start braiding flowers in your hair and wearing a bonnet you'll be fine.

Honestly, I'm torn... You had a tan skirt like this I think and you chopped it up and it looked fabulous. And I can see how you feel like little house on the prairie while sweeping the stoop! But everything looks good on you, including this, although I do think it kind of makes your stature smaller than normal. Sorry I can't be of more help!!

I love the way it looks in these pictures, but if you're not confident walking around in it, it'll show. If anyone can do this look though, you can!

I think you totally pull it off! I can see this with an awesome floppy hat!But...are you comfortable in it, is the most important question! It would also be cute as a short skirt!

i like the comment about the Woodstock vibe... that's kind of what i get from it too! I can't find a good photo, but it makes me think of this scene from Forrest Gump

(if you had a big fur cuff jacket on with it!) I say keep it and if you really just hate it, chop off the length.

Okay my first thought was: love the skirt. My second thought was: if I say it is awful she might sell it in her shop and I can have it! LOL.

So uh, you look very sexy in this. Not Little House at all (which is one darn good book/show). I don't know if I would do a denim bag with it though. That might be too much. So perhaps it was just the bag throwing you off?

So conclusion: keep keep keep it. You look fan fan tastic.

That skirt looks so amazing on you. It's a definite keeper. I wish I could pull off long skirts. They make me look shorter than I am.

Hi! If I owned the skirt I would: shorten it to just above the knee with a bubble hem. And I would def. wear it with that brown belt.... maybe make it more of a fall type outfit with tall boots? I'm just not sure of the material .. if it's really light....
You could also use the left-over material for a funky plaid pillow cover... decor permitting!
