things are looking up

just want to give a shout out to merl (of clydes rebirth fame). you rock hard core for telling me about the card reader. it was so much cheaper than a new usb cable and way easier to find! you're the best :)

ok, so i'm going to try and make my pics bigger in blogger. i've done it before with horrible results. i don't know. i feel like it stretches the image and makes it look weird. it's all because i'm super lazy and don't want to use a secondary hosting site. it seems like a lot of work. i know a lot of people use photobucket and tumblr. is it worth it? let me know what you think.
so this was my outfit from yesterday. it was so maddening because when i took these photos, it was cloudy and sprinkling a bit. then as the day went on, the sun came out and it was gorgeous! but i was at the shop and my camera was at home. i then had to run some errands (ie looking for a cable) and by the time i got home again, the clouds had returned. such is life.
anyway, i love this little dress. the bottom is flowy and flirty and i like that i can turn down the top to make it a skirt if i want. and it combines my favorite colors of black and blue. so fun.
and i'm so excited that matt gets home today! i've missed him.
this week i plan to do a massive etsy shop update. hopefully, i'll get to the picture taking tomorrow and then list the items a little at a time. i'm excited because i've gotten some pretty awesome things over the last couple weeks. some may not actually make it to the shop. we'll see!

I think this my favorite outfit of yours so far. The color, the print, the knee highs. Everything is beautiful!

Great pictures! This is such a fun look too--that dress is gorgeous!

i recommend using flickr! the image quality is so much nicer than photobucket, and since you edit on picnik, you can just do it all at once with flickr!

Flickr is awesome! It's only $24/yr with no limit. It keeps the quality of the pictures really well, which is important now that you're all fancy pants w/your new camera! If you're going to resize a picture using html, just make sure you keep the same length:width ratio!
ps: love the socks with this outfit!

Those socks are great, not a lot of people can pull them off, and you can! :)

I love the print on that dress! Hmm...I've also been toying with the idea of bigger photos, but in the end I think it's too much work. Then again, I've never actually tried the process out, so perhaps I'm being silly. Let us know if you try any sites that you think are worth it!
P.S. Thanks as always for the hair compliments, they make me smile every time! :)

Okay, this is my FAV outfit of yours yet!! GORGEOUS. The colours, the proportions, everything, PERFECT!

As for pics, I use Flickr. I think it is MUCH better. They load fast (I hear photobucket can be slow) and the quality is awesome. Also, I can upload all the pics at one time. I just press cntrl and select them all. And then as I wait for them to load I write my post. It is SO MUCH QUICKER than uploading them directly to blogger.

Because after they are on flickr it takes no time at all to select them for blogger (or chictopia). I swear it is quicker all round.

this outfit is so cute, I am loving those knee high socks especially.

About the photo size, I upload my images with photobucket because I hate the size they upload through blogger, and if I stretch it, it pixelates. I definitely recommend photobucket, its really simple and I don't find it uses up too much time.

I'm just amazed at how you put outfits together, you have mad talent!! The dress is so lovely and the perfect length, and you know how I love OTK socks, I wish I felt comfortable wearing them to work. I enjoyed reading the comments about the photo sites, I've been wondering the same. And your pictures are looking fabulous, I'm so glad your camera is working out for you! One of these days I'm going to get a twitter account, just behind the times I guess :)

i didn't know you had an etsy shop - i'm going to go check it out now. i have one as well, but am transitioning to a new shop (http://sweettoothvintage.etsy.com).

it's hard to live with all this overwhelming knowledge in my head.. I'm glad I could give a little to you.. ;) flickr is the way to go. Like Annie said, only 24$ a YEAR, and you can choose different sizes for your photos, and flickr will resize without pixelating or messing with the dimensions. I personally size my photos in photoshop to the width I know I want them on my blog.. and then select 'large' on flickr. No surprises, just perfect photos of yours truly. Obviously the subject needs some work..

Oh man, this outfit is so girly! probably the most girly i've seen on you! Of course, I LOVEEE it!

As for making your pics bigger, I too just upload them from my computer, then once they're on my post, I click the HTML tab and there's a part that says the size, like s320, and I change that number to s720. Does this make sense? you should try it if you don;t want to invest in flickr and whatnot. I don;t know, I just don;t think that I take my blog THAT serioudly where I have to start paying to store my pics you know?
