despite my crazy 70s wardrobe, i have been totally listening to 90s music on pandora lately. oh my! the best thing ever! i feel like time hasn't even gone by since all those favorite songs were on the radio (sure sign i'm getting older). last night, i was jamming out while cooking some masoor dal for dinner. sipping on some wine, windows open, mr. jones and me. good times. good times.
i love playing with similar tones. and especially with colors that i previously thought i couldn't wear. i did, however, get a few odd looks while grocery shopping in this. or maybe they just saw my awesome 'amanda' necklace and wondered where they could get their hands on one just like it. yeah, i bet that's it.

This sweater looks super comfy, and I'm really digging the color combination. Maybe people were just staring cuz you looked so good. ;)
i'm a big supporter of unlikely color pairings myself, so to this outfit, i say: brava! well done, my friend.
Nice color combo! I can dig it!
I am so jealous of that dress. It looks amazing with that knit jacket!
Nice!!

There is almost nothing better than jamming out while cooking. Add the sips of wine and I think it could be the closest to pure bliss ever!
Everything about this outfit kicks some major ass! The color play keeps the vintage pieces so.right.on!
Loving it!
I would like that necklace, actually.
Thanks for the link, ma'am. And in your homage! I feel like I must buy it...
But that's not why I came here. This is so beautiful.
While I do want to sneak in and steal that sweater from you, I know that is wrong and that it was made a long time ago- somehow- just for you. It's perfect and I love the tone-on-similar tone. You're just so beautiful.
Geez.

I would assume the "odd looks" were really admiring looks, as you look AWESOME. I just adore adore adore this outfit! It's adorable! Really it is lovely and has such a nice shape and feel and flow...and oh, I like it!
And I love Mr. Jones!!
much love: kimberellie miss furnellie (with a baby in her belly)
Yes to your gorgeous outfit! And yes to 90's music! I think that the fellow grocery store shoppers were wondering how you managed to look so pulled together and yet so comfortable at the same time. It's a challenge for most people, yet you seem to accomplish it with each and every outfit. I'm in awe.
You look fab! How cool that you have a necklace named after you too:) It's so pretty!
I'm pretty much straight up obsessed with the pink-orange combo and I have to say, you're totally rocking it here. I love how dreamy and yet also funky it looks with your amazing hairs and those shoes.
Also, Mr. Jones and me? Yes, please. I'll have a crush on Adam Duritz for the rest of my life, thanks to my teenage years taking place in the 90's.
I love this! Such a great casual feminine, bohemian style.
this is so beautiful!! I love how you put it together with those shoes and the sweater. I am sure you got odd looks because you were actually dressed up at the grocery store! I get looks when I do that because everyone else is in their sweat pants and such at the store. hehe. You would get a smile from me if I saw you in the grocery store. . .granted I'd go up to you and say Hi too, but I mean if I didn't ever read your blog and I saw you in the store like this. . I would think "woah, that's amazing!!! yey for good style sense!" and smile every time I would see you in an aisle or so.
oh what!? how did i miss this post? your dress is delightful. The perfect length, print, pattern...everything.
x
p.s. 90's music is the jam.
dear amanda:
i want to steal all of this right off of you. including your hairs. this is where it's at.
xo, em
I just want to pick you up and squish you [gently, but c'mon you gotta fit!] into my pocket to keep you around at all times. I'd even find a wee little glass to feed you wine and scotch every day. Is it creepy that though I was joking, I also had a mental image of you 6" tall, making dresses out of my vintage fabric we used in Merl's sweatshop for my business cards? You looked cute if that makes it sound better ... ;)
I want to be in this outfit right now. It looks so comfy, yet absolutely adorable.
great color combo! i love that sweater, i have a few 70s sweaters like that and they are my favorite!
