song of the day: 'call me' by blondie
when i was in louisiana at the beginning of the summer, i found this tote bag at a salvation army. it still had the original tag on it!! now, i love the olympics. like i have an olympic flag that i hang up and i watch it non-stop. my dream is to carry the torch (and win a gold medal but because i'm not particularly gifted in the way of sports i doubt that will happen). and well i was born in 1980 so it was a rather fantastic find for me. i've been using it as my shop bag, i'll throw my laptop and notebook and such in it, but i realized i hadn't shown you guys yet. so here she is. and i picked a song of the day from 1980 to go along with the bag and because i'm cute like that.

oh and can you spot my leg wound? i had thought about getting a closeup but was afraid i'd gross you out. it looks way better than it did. it finally stopped oozing, so that's a good thing. you can see the overhang that we climbed up on in the pictures. and the metal that scraped off my leg skin. pleasant sounding, eh?

This is such a cute outfit! I love your shoes.
And I can't really spot your wound. But I guess that means it's not too big, right?
Have fun in New York! That sounds super exciting!

Super lovely. That slate-y blue is absolutely perfect on you.

And the story about the bag and the flag and the russians and 80s and the olympics is very sweet. Congratsies.

Also, have an amazing in New York. And sorry about your leg. Leper.

here's an interesting story: my mother was invited to train as an olympic gymnast, but her parents said no ... turns out the year she would have competed was 1980 - the year we boycotted! eeery. ...

I really love the dress and bag. I am huge Olympics fan. My family had always gotten into them. We actually taped them! Haha. Remember when you could go to grocery stores and get the little pins for a ll the sports?? I used to collect them and now I have no idea where any of them are. If I find one, I'll send it to you!
