waldo
i totally should have worn my glasses (which are black rimmed) in these pictures. that woulda really taken it up a notch, no? that and taking photos in a crowd. hmmm....next time.
but i bought isaiah a 'where's waldo' book for christmas. man, those things can get addictive! matt and i had more fun competing to see who could find him first. i'm pretty sure i'm the waldo finding champion of the house.
i told you the weather has been super gross around here! today it just misted constantly. not an actual rain, but a drizzle that just seeps into your skin and settles in your bones and makes it impossible to get warm. delightful.
i'm actually checking to see if i had a stain on my skirt. :)

just how it goes
the weather has been altogether unsavory these last few days. i've not been happy about it. i don't think spring should be allowed to come and go as it pleases. the calendar says it's a warm month and that's exactly what i expect. i was quite unable to stand the cold long enough to snap pics outside, so i settled for the indoor shots again. i'm just glad that my room has a pretty nice backdrop.
and did you notice that i'm wearing this dress again? yes, and it will not be the last time either. there are more than a few things in my wardrobe that you guys may get sick of seeing before i get tired of wearing them. i love finding favorite pieces. :)

orange you glad
meet my new favorite cardigan. i LOVE it. i never thought i could wear this particular color, but i saw this sweater on etsy and fell head over heels for it. i'm a sucker for anything with 3/4 sleeves and allegedly orange is all the rage this season. needless to say, you'll be seeing A LOT more of it in the coming days. hope you love it as much as i do!!!!
and can i PLEASE apologize for my post title? it's the first thing that popped into my head, and well, i went with it. but at least i didn't say banana! am i right?!?!?!?!!

there's a moral at the end of this
to clear the air, this was an outfit i wore last weekend, lest you think i wear these jeans every day (which i do, like last night for dinner as a matter of fact). i bought the jordaches on ebay. the seller stated that they would fit a modern size me, so i eagerly bid on them and won by a landslide. after ripping them out of the packaging as soon as they came in the mail, i was at first sorely disappointed. the seller lied to me, she LIED i tell you. they are indeed no where near the size she quoted in the description (no measurements given, mind). i put them on, and was very sad when i realized that they were very large. sulking a bit, i put them on a hanger in the closet and contemplated selling them. then a few days later, i needed something to wear to a housewarming party and all my other jeans were in the wash. and oh my, the heavens opened up and i discovered the jordaches hidden beauty. they are now one of my very favorite buys on ebay EVER!! it's amazing what a simple woven belt will do.
now about the bag. there's another story for you. settle in, kids, for some story time. i saw this bag on little ocean annie's blog in an etsy preview post. i immediately fell in love with it and waited with bated breath for when it was available. the day finally came. i saw that she tweeted it so i clicked the link to her shop. here's my mistake: I PUT IT IN MY FAVORITES! why didn't i just add it to my cart??????? within mere seconds, the bag of my dreams was gone! some hussy swooped in and nabbed it out from under me. it was almost devastating. i mentioned as much to annie on twitter. and she then alerted me to purple deer's etsy preview! the world seemed bright again! annie then sent me the link and i check it out. like a jerk, i said something about it being a bit more than what annie had it listed at. but, i couldn't let it go. i even looked for one on ebay (and just so you know, there were a couple and they were much higher). so i put it in my cart and paid my money. then, an angel from purple deer vintage gave me free shipping :) and the bag is MINE! moral of the story.....when it comes to etsy, if you love it BUY IT, and make sure you shop at purple deer. great stuff in that shop!!

not just for old men
is it friday yet? no? boo. i could really use a friday. and a car......but that's beside the point.
so i thrifted this dress on monday and i totally love it. it's lightweight which is perfect for the warmer weather and i love the colors in it. and i had no idea that i would match the background of my photos so well! it's like i blend right in!
and don't you love that i'm wearing black socks like an old man? because i do.

no they are not tattoos
this is from last week when i had to take my beloved in for his surgery. did i tell you matt had surgery on his finger? well he did. poor guy has a soft cast halfway up his left arm :( but it was so funny because i had to take him to the center i used to work in. did i tell you i used to be a nurse assistant? well i was. anyway, he was well taken care of. if not, those folks at north hills woulda had a very angry lady after them.
i love how it looks like i'm growing out of the flower bed in this picture. every single time i wear these tights, i get the funniest looks and comments. but, alas, this was their last day out. my bracelet ripped a huge hole in the thigh and i am not a ripped tights wearing gal. some trendy ladies look awesome in them. me? no.
so farewell awesome floral tights that are most definitely NOT tattoos.

fortunate one
this is one of my very favorite photo shoots EVER. i don't know. maybe it IS my favorite one. i think it's interesting, lisa talked about her outfit from this night as being her favorite on her blog. and i think that showed in her photos. you know when you're absolutely 100% comfortable, it makes you look better? i don't wanna sound conceited (i'm really like the farthest person from that. i have horrible image issues) but i really love the way i look in these pictures. and i think it comes mostly from being myself (of course merl's amazing photography skillzzzz may have a wee bit to do with it :)
this is from sunday night after the TxSCC conference. as i mentioned in my post from yesterday, sunday was a bit breezy. i had been cold all day and knew that all i really wanted to do was be warm. merl, emily, lisa and i drove back to our little rental apartment to freshen up for the party that night and we all ended up changing. at first i felt bad for wanting to pull on jeans (busted up and a few sizes too big jeans, notwithstanding), but i was so happy that i did. i hadn't been that at ease all weekend. and i think it shows :)
it's so funny. no amount of fashion can compare with comfort.......and great photography!
oh, and thank you all for your friendship through this blog. i've been feeling very blessed as of late :)
