song of the day: 'riding the storm out' by reo speedwagon
i want to thank you all so much for your support and well wishes. it means more to me than you can know :) and as an update, things are a little up in the air this morning. we found out last night that animal control couldn't deem the dog vicious because i didn't have to get stitches and the previous complaint about the dog was never officially documented. so that means, unless we can convince the owner otherwise, the dog can go back to the same house within city limits and across the street from the school. we are very disappointed right now. but i know things will all work out the way they should. and i am healing well. i still have a lot of soreness in my ribs and my busted up elbow still bothers me a bit, but it's so much better than it was. i went on a recovery run yesterday and it was good. i was worried that i would be too freaked out, but it went well and i just kept a slow easy pace.
but in other news, it's cold today and i'm making bean soup and corn bread tonight for dinner and i just can't wait! which is funny because i truly hate to cook. that's why the crock pot is going to do all the work for me. but i have a lot to do before i can enjoy a nice hot meal so i better get to it. have a great thursday everyone!

Thanks for giving me hope for when I become 30. haha. I need it. My mom had a nervous breakdown at 30 and I hope that won't happen to me (but I will work hard so that it doesn't). She went through too much though so that added.

anyway this outfit is incredible. I love the bells and the shirt and blazer that go with it. excellent job!!!!

super cute outfit. love the sailer vibe. And that is LAME about the dog. How is being ATTACKED not considered vicious? I mean, if I beat you with a bat but you didn't need stitches I would get arrested for assault regardless. That is truly the stupedest thing I have ever heard. I worry about the kids across the street. I guess we can only pray that no one gets seriously hurt.

grrrrr.

It's so nice to hear another woman saying she hates to cook. I get the worst looks from people when I say I hate cooking, like I'm some kind of freak.

I am pretty terrible though, my boyfriend does all the cooking and when he's gone I resort to sandwiches and salad.

I'm so glad to hear that you're doing well, but amazed at the crap way that the situation with the dog is being handled. I think your attitude is great, though, and I can only imagine how much cornbread will make things better. Yum!

This outfit is awesome. Love the nautical elements and how rocking 70's those pants are. Fabulous!

I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better. Pray that it doesn't take a child getting injured before the owner is made accountable.

wish I could come to your house for dinner.

Well that is lame that just because you didn't get stitches it doesn't count as being a vicious attack. Who makes up these stupid rules? Hopefully it doesn't come down to a kiddo getting hurt in order for this owner to have his dog taken care of.
I am glad you are on the mend, and that dinner sounds delicious. Plus you look super cute!

oh wow i'm so sorry that happened to you! my bf's mom is an animal control worker and she has some of the most horrible stories about dogs- most of her job is just going around and wrangling vicious pitbulls that have been either neglected or trained to fight. it's really horrible what some people turn those sweet dogs into! i hope the owner gets some sort of punishment, or else maybe the dog will turn on him! but anyways, you look super cute in those awesome pants.

ahhhh!!! holy shit mama! I love going to your blog every couple days so that I have a few posts to devour, but then I feel horrible when I miss something like this!! I can't believe nothing was done about the dog.. I'm not gonna lie, I don't support putting dogs that have attacked humans down, because most of the time it's a stupid humans fault for making the dog crazy, but the police should've done SOMETHING about the pitbull. That shocks the hell out of me especially being so close to a school! I bet if you got some other parents involved, they would be forced to do something though.. I know you're not a big troublemaker but if that kid got into the playground, that would be horrific.

So glad you're ok though. again I'm sorry for not seeing this earlier!!

ps you're fucking hot as always. xxxo

oh no, I'm so sorry that dog attacked you, and I can't believe no one is doing anything about it!! I just don't understand how that can happen...
