light of my life

amanda
song of the day: 'amanda' by waylon jennings
when i was little, my dad used to sing me this song. he would put me in the wheelbarrow and push me about the yard just so we could hang out while he worked around the house on the weekends, and sing 'amanda, light of my life. fate should have made you a gentleman's wife.' ah, sweet memories.
amanda
and now i'd like to introduce you to the 'amanda' necklace! the amazingly talented and lovely lisa of tree and kimball created her spring line of jewelry and named each piece after a friend. i was fortunate enough to have this gorgeous one named after me! i can't believe how well she got my style and personality and then translated that into a necklace. even matt said it fit me perfectly. i wore this on saturday to my shop, because the weather was fantastic and just the right time to debut my little namesake.
please head over to lisa's etsy store and take a look at her other lovely creations. she even has a vintage shop! and truly, she's as nice and awesome as she is talented :)

and sorry, now that i know how pretty the lighting can be in my bedroom, you're going to be seeing a lot more of it. i just love the feel and the mood of the pictures in here. ya know?

Amanda, your dress, hair and necklace are all so lovely!

I love your hair in these photos! Do you just clip it in the back? Just curious since my hair is short too and all I've been able to do is a stubby pony :)

Every time I hear Waylon Jennings I feel like watching The Dukes of Hazzard again. I blame my brother who is obsessed with them both. haha.

Your dress is so lovely and I think the necklace suits it so prettily!

thank you for the blog love, my dear friend! you look perfect, but then, i've come to expect nothing short of that from you. (and really, the color of the lace suits your beautiful eyes just right...! ♥)

Yes, Lisa is the bomb. I'm pretty obsessed with her stuff (and how funny that I wore my T&K earrings in today's post?!). :)

And I adore this outfit photo location. There's something so dreamy about the lighting, which fits perfectly with the dress and necklace.

I love that dress! I usually don't like waists like that, but this dress has definitely changed my mind. I also love the color of the socks! I know that's a strange comment, but I really do, aha.

Have a good week!

yes that necklace is truly lovely! And very YOU. Love the lighting in your bedroom too. I'd like to find a spot in my house to do indoor pics. I think I would post more often if this were possible!

Love your dress too. You are lovely.

I am super-duper late commenting on this (being sick will do terrible things to your blogroll!), but I wanted to stop by and say how much I love this look, and how beautifully I think you've photographed it! I'm so glad you shot these in your bedroom, as that thick yellow book and incredible coral lamp are perfect complements to the darker, more neutral tones of the outfit.

(And I always freaking love how kickass you look wearing flats - I am always grateful for some flat-shoe style inspiration, since I am way too much of a wimp to wear heels!)
