song of the day: 'chain' by fleetwood mac
yesterday was epic. as in record setting snowfall in one day for the entire state of arkansas. we officially got 24.5" of snow between 3 am and 5pm. it was incredible! absolutely, stunningly beautiful.
i am wearing a t-shirt, denim shirt, sweater, cape, scarf, two pairs of knee socks, one pair of regular socks, fuzzy lined boots, two pairs of gloves, and my winter running pants. AND I WAS STILL FREEZING!
in most places the snow was much taller than my boots so i got it all caked inside, slowly melting and seeping inside of my multiple layers to to chill my wee feet.
it was so funny just trying to walk in it. i mean, for us, this is a novelty. we've NEVER seen snow like this. you couldn't tell where the sidewalks met the street so there were more than a few stumbles.
we really could only make it a couple blocks before we got too cold. but it was pretty unforgettable. there really is a quiet calm that comes with snow. and here, the whole town shuts down and we can slow down and enjoy it. not sure i want to experience it all the time, but it's nice while it lasts.
details:
scarf-yarn over movement
cape, sweater, boots-vintage
denim shirt-thrifted
socks-walmart
pants-nike from local sports store (way warmer than any jean)

Any snow angels in the near future?
