what matilda wore

i'd like to introduce you to matilda. she's been in my family for a long time. my grandma had her from the time my mom was a little girl and mom even fitted her wedding dress on this form. now matilda stays at my shop and adorns my window.
i thought it would be fun to post pictures of her each week in what she's worn in the window. creating outfits for her is one of my favorite things to do at the shop and i usually change it everyday. these are the outfits from friday and saturday.

I like the new blog design - I was definitely fond of the old one too, but this one's a little easier to read, especially on an iphone.

I actually have an heirloom dress form too! Mine was my grandmother's, and was made to her measurements in the early sixties. Unfortunately I can't really use it for fitting as we're not quite the same size - I'm too busty, she's too hippy! - but I love using it to model pieces for my etsy shop. Her name is Marge :)

I love the new design! The old one still very much felt like a blogger template--this one feels more original and personal.

Dressing Matilda seems like such a fun thing to do each day! And you have no idea how much it makes me want to visit your shop. I really need to do some cute outfits around vintage sweatshirts--I have a few, but I just never feel like styling them up. Thanks for the inspiration :)

I like the new layout! Sometimes little changes like this can help move you through a funk too. It's nice to get in there and freshen things up every once in a while. Hope you're starting to feel better.

How cute! Sometimes I wish I could work at a vintage shop or even just a general clothing store so I could dress up the mannequins. Is that weird, haha?

And I love the new layout! It feels really fresh and clean. Especially the banner. That is a really great picture of you!

it's adorable that your mom fitting your wedding dress on matilda. my dressform is such a POS and i'm usually on the verge of lighting it on fire and throwing it out the window.

Did I tell you I dreamed that I visited your shop? I did. And it was great. :-D

LOVE Matilda. Gosh, it must be INCREDIBLY fun to have a shop. I've always said I would hate to own my own business (I'm allergic to running things/responsibility). But you are almost making me change my mind!
