there's a patch of snow on the ground

song of the day: 'hazy shade of winter' by simon and garfunkel
today is a snow day (insert sad face). you'd think that would be super fun, right? no school, a day of cozying up on the couch, watching movies, drinking hot beverages, maybe making a snowman or at the very least a snow angel, but no. i still have to open the shop and that means the kiddo has to come to work with me. poor little guy. that's no way to spend a snow day. plus i don't get to run. boooooo!
anyway, have a great tuesday!! anyone else having a snow day today?

i'm really really hoping that we don't get much snow. philadelphia is such a mess when there's a snowstorm - the roads aren't plowed, people steal your parking spot. bleh! i'm ready for spring to get here.

i love everything about this outfit--the dooney&bourke is amazing, the pleated skirt is swoonworthy, the loafers are fabulous as always--spot on :)

vermonters just laugh at blizzards, unfortunately for me. even when i was a kid we rarely had snow days, we only had snow "delays," which were totally lame. we only stayed home for trecherous ice storms or power outtages.

Here in the Midwest we need a blizzard to have a snow day!
Hopefully school will be open tomorrow. I love my son too, but I look forward to that little bit of "me" time while he's in school. :)

I love the subtle mix of colors and textures here - the pattern of the tights echoes the cable knit of the sweater perfectly, and I love the combination of navy blue with earthier hues.

My sympathies about the snow day - those have gotten significantly less fun since adulthood, it's pretty hard to get enough snow to get out of work. After years of snow in Boston and NJ, I've managed to pretty much escape winter this time around - instead I spent today at the beach in Barcelona.

I love this earthy outfit! Especially the skirt. <3

And it looks like the snow is starting to hit everywhere. We've had snow here in Flagstaff since November and we're supposed to get more today. I'm just hoping that it's not like last year where is snowed all the way through MAY.

What a beautiful skirt! One fine day, when your son is being interviewed about his beginners as a designer, he may fondly recall this 'snowed in' day.

When I was growing up, we rarely ever had snow days, but we got at least a few "cold days" a year, whenever the temperature was below -20 F. The school districts were worried that the kids would die. It was kind of extreme. Anyway, I'm sorry you don't get to fully enjoy your snow day. On the upside, you look fantastic. The perfect combination of neutrals!
