the secret garden

saturday we spent the day at my parents' house eating good food, chatting, and celebrating our mom. we also worked in the garden, getting rid of weeds and sprucing things up a bit. the kids named this the secret garden, so that's how we've always referred to it.
the weather was gorgeous! and it was just fun to get out there with my family and work. this garden was always such a special place for my mom so it was great to do this for her.
isaiah with his cousin anna-these kiddos are like two peas in a pod.
hayden-my brother's son.
me and my sister hard at work.
bunny ears never get old, do they?
and i just want to thank all of you for the kind words and comments over the last couple days. it really means a lot to me :)

sounds like a wonderful day. I love zoning out and gardening. It must have been lots of fun for te kids to be together too and get into mischief.

Oh goodness, could the kiddos in your family be any cuter? This is what I miss out on by being an only child - no chances to be a cool auntie!

I have been on an obsessive gardening kick ever since the sun has come out. It's so nice to be outside in the sunshine while being semi productive.

Also, you and your mom are adorable.

Your parents yard is wonderful! I hope to have a garden like that myself someday. It is so nice for the kids that they have a place like that to go exploring in! You certainly look the part here...maybe a big house in the countryside with an amazing garden is in your future?
