what matilda wore

matilda had a great week. she got to model a lot of clothes for the etsy store and two of the three dresses she wore in the window sold! she loves it when that happens. and when matilda's happy, i'm happy :)

i'd say most of you know i'm a runner. running is my escape, my thing. pretty much, it makes me happy :)

my photographer and i have been undergoing some creative differences lately. as in i want to take photos and he doesn't. i think it's the summer heat. it's hard to work under these conditions, i totally get that. but we have a little chat about it and then he starts to see it my way again....kinda.

and i just got these cute little sandals. the straps don't stay on my heel. i'm working on a solution to remedy this. we'll see how it goes. or i'll just keep wearing them as quasi-flipflops. i'm cool either way.

i'm certain i'm the only one who wears a thick cardigan when it's 102 degrees out. but in my defense, the entire back is lace. built in ventilation, you know.

and tonight i will be enjoying gluten free pizza and beer while watching so you think you can dance. this is going to be the best night EVER.

a new love

dresses are hard for me. i rarely find one that i can wear more than once or twice before i sell it. currently, there are only 3 in my closet that i care about. i do believe this little white gem is gonna be number 4. mostly because it's kinda like an oversized t-shirt and that makes me think of being in jammies which makes me feel all cozy comfy and i like that a lot. so i'm going to fantasize about taking a nap because i could really use one right now......

do you remember this outfit? since seeing it, i pretty much made it my mission to find a similar skirt. i trolled the internets and found the EXACT SAME ONE on etsy!!!! i had to do some fancy cutting and sewing (and seam ripping when i messed up and then more sewing), but i was able to shorten it and make it a bit more fitted to look like my inspiration. i am super happy about how it turned out.

and i had such a great weekend. i'm a little bummed out to be sitting here on monday morning with five whole days between me and next weekend, but that's life i guess. happy monday, everyone!

what matilda wore

last week was a very good one for amandromeda. matilda likes to take credit for it since she's basically my marketing manager and general front woman being that she stands in the window for all to see. if she's having a good day then the store has a good day. sometimes she gets a big head about it, but then i gently remind her that she has no head. she's typically fairly quiet after that :)

farmer's market

saturdays when i don't have to be at my shop, matt doesn't have to work, and we have no plans are pretty special. this morning, we left for the fayetteville farmer's market to pick up some tasty goodies. the little market that's here in town is nice and all, but every once in a while it's fun to go to the bigger one. oh man, did we get some yummy things! cucumbers, peppers, spinach, and the most delectable tomatoes i've ever had IN MY LIFE.

and as luck would have it, we parked right by a vintage shop called cheap thrills where i bought a cute little dress.

we finished off the outing with a trip to the natural foods store for steak and gluten free pizza crust (sooooooo excited about this) and a quick stop for some wine. then proceeded to have the best lunch of all time once we got home. i sure do love saturdays in the summer :)

i'd love to be in some tropical locale right about now, listening to the wind in the palms and the ocean lapping the shore. and if i were at this amazing beach in my mind, this is what i'd wear while sipping a cold beverage and maybe laying in a hammock. if only........

this dress is inappropriately thick for a blistering heat wave, but it's insanely comfortable and it has pockets. that makes it all worth it. plus, it's sweatshirt-esque material does help me regulate my body temp when i am indoors. why does everyone think they have to crank the a/c down to negative numbers?!?! it's summer, it's supposed to be warm, let's not lose sight of this. k?

this is not the first thing i had on this morning. i wore a black dress over a t-shirt and some black ankle booties. as i was getting our stuff together to go to my shop for the day, isaiah said 'i don't like what you're wearing. i don't like the dress and your legs and the boots.' i replied with 'me neither, buddy.' i ran back to the closet to change real quick before heading out. i asked if he liked this outfit better. he said yes :)
