soaking it up

this is it. the last week of summer. cue sad face. next week, school starts and that means back to schedules and homework and routines and then comes cold weather and long dark nights and snow........shudder. BUT, it's still blazing hot and i'm gonna make the most of what i have left. this has been a great summer. i just wish it didn't have to end!

and here i am just soaking up the sun at the pool on friday. wearing my hat and lounging on my wall-e towel.

dresses are hard for me. i rarely find one that i can wear more than once or twice before i sell it. currently, there are only 3 in my closet that i care about. i do believe this little white gem is gonna be number 4. mostly because it's kinda like an oversized t-shirt and that makes me think of being in jammies which makes me feel all cozy comfy and i like that a lot. so i'm going to fantasize about taking a nap because i could really use one right now......

the weather has been such a drag lately. it's been sunny and warm one minute and literally hailing golfballs the next. and rain, rain, rain...........but i'm the one who asked for spring, right? booooooooooo!

but today is good friday! which in one way, it's a very somber and reflective holiday. but then, for me, it's the promise of what happened on sunday morning 2000 years ago. i do most definitely celebrate easter sunday :)

but we do have a busy weekend ahead of us. we're going to visit friends tonight, spending time with my family tomorrow, and going to a birthday party saturday night, and of course church on sunday. busy, but super fun. and i even have a cute 70s sundress for easter. if the weather cooperates, sheesh!

morning brain mush. this is exactly why i've been scheduling my posts lately. i'm so much wittier at night, ya know? i have literally had this post up for 45 minutes and only managed four sentences, one of which is incomplete.

so i will take this opportunity to talk about my dress!! it's soooooooo awesome. it's terrycloth, for crying out loud! super comfy and easy, and convenient for cleaning up spills. k, i'm totally kidding about spills, kinda. but i do appreciate the towel quality of the material. and the color sorta makes me happy :)
