flash of mauve

song of the day: 'masquerade' from the phantom of the opera
i'm starting to get a little excited about halloween! i just have to get crackin' on putting together the costumes. but, because of the holiday, i thought it would be nice to get out on a cloudy morning to this crazy little cemetery i found not long ago. it feels a bit haphazard in its layout, but i love its location. up high on a hill in the middle of the woods kinda overlooking the lake. i wouldn't even think of going out here in the dark or even close to dark. yikes. i kept hearing some rustling in the brush and getting a little creeped out. but that's what makes it exhilarating, right?
a few years ago, matt and i went to new york and he surprised me with tickets to see phantom of the opera. it was spectacular! we sat in the third row from the stage, right in the middle. when the chandelier dropped, i swear i could almost reach out and touch it, it was so close. it was such a good show. and masquerade was one of my favorite scenes. i loved all the characters in their colorful ball gowns and masks, and the song is just cool and so different than all the others. just thinking about it makes me want to watch the movie! and wear a super romantic elaborate gown and grow long beautiful hair and walk around singing while being chased by a crazed maniac with a half mangled face. doesn't it you?

Ooh, what an appropriate setting. I like that jacket, its very pretty and contrasts well with the spookiness of the cemetery.
Also, I love Phantom of the Opera! I have seen it twice and think it is awesome. So yes, I get the wanting to be Christine.

I love the Phantom of the Opera. I first saw it when I was eight and fell in love. I listened to the soundtrack ever since. Love it! Also love your setting and outfit as well!!

I always dream of being chased by maniacs with half-mangled faces! It's like a lifelong goal of mine.
Mauve looks great on you. That sweater, belt, and flower combo is simply inspired. :)

I always wanted to see The Phantom of the Opera. Never have, sadly. The only thing I saw on Broadway every was Riverdance. Kinda odd that it is the only one considering I live only 20 minutes from Broadway. oh well. maybe one day. I really would like to see Mary Poppins but I don't even know if they have that on there anymore haha. That's how much I pay attention. It would indeed be scary to be stalked by a man in a mask. I guess it depends on how they are and how well you get to know them though. haha.

Lovely outfit!

What a pretty shirt. I too have watched that Broadway show. I tell you it was worth what I paid for. The music is marvelous and so are the characters.

What a cute jacket! It actually took me a second to realize I made that flower... I thought "oh those colors look so pretty together... oh wait, I made that!"
