holidays are joyful

song of the day: 'merry christmas darling' by the carpenters
wow. i just really have very little to say. i've been sitting in front of the 'compose' screen for like 45 minutes.
i will say that i am getting sooooooooooo nervous about this weekend. sunday to be exact. it's my marathon day and every time i think about it, butterflies start fluttering in my tummy. it doesn't make sense that i'm so apprehensive about it, i mean i've done two others. but, last year i had to drop out on the thursday (yep that would be the equivalent of today!) before the race because my right knee was in so much pain i couldn't run 3 miles and i literally cried the entire two miles i had left to limp home. then in 2007 i ran in memphis and at around mile 18 my left knee stiffened up on me and i had to run/walk the last 8 miles, wincing all the while. needless to say, i am scared that i'll get hurt again. why the heck do i do this to myself????? i don't know really but i can tell you that i think the holidays will be so much more joyful on monday.....if i can still walk by then.

oh my gosh, i love this! you look like a cross between amelia earhart and pumpkin pie :) very classic and autumnal!

good luck with the marathon--i never understand how people can do that! i am not a fan of pain :) my close friends from college all got really into running marathons after graduation (like, every other weekend!) and i thought they were off their rockers. still, i teared up when they came running over the hill! so impressive.

Marathoners amaze me. The dedication and hard work is truly such a great accomplishment. I love that you're doing it, and I'm sure you'll do great!!

Also, I love Caitlin's comment. You DO look like a "cross between Amelia Earhart and pumpkin pie"!! :)

I love this outfit! I've got a thing for longer pleated skirts these days.

Good luck on the marathon! The thing that always baffles me about the runners is how you don't get bored running for so long (oh, and how in the world you can physically do it!).

You'll be fantastic on your marathon! Good luck, friend, and you're admirable for even attempting it.

Love that long length on that skirt, too! :)

you've just described every reason i will never, ever run a marathon. i think your capabilities and dedication are amazing...but please be safe! running that far/long is soo hard on your body.

i wish you the best luck! :) xoxo
