i just opened an etsy shop! it's sort of a compliment to the brick and mortar store that i have. i had another website, but i found that i kind of got lost in the middle of everything else on the internet. and i love etsy! so anyway, here are a couple items that i have for sale right now. if you have time, please go check it out!

winter wonderland
isaiah and i are having a great time playing in the snow at the park by our house. since we don't live in a traditional home, we kind of consider this park to be our backyard. you can see the creek and one of the gazebos. there's also a really big fountain in this park, but i guess i didn't get a shot of that. we just love our downtown neighborhood!
matt, isaiah, and i went to dinner at the brick oven pizza joint across the street and it was just packed! we couldn't believe it. with the roads in such bad shape, we thought we'd be the only ones there. but we chatted with another family we know, and then walked back home and enjoyed the beauty of the softly falling snow in the lamplight. it was a great day.

snow day
we have had a crazy amount of snow here in arkansas this winter thus far. yesterday started the freezing rain, then sleet, now snow. i love it! well, it's fun because i have my family with me and we don't have to go anywhere and we're all safe and warm.
but i just had to go out and take pictures in this beautiful snow. so i pulled out my faux fur cape. i don't have a lot of places i can wear this thing, so i have to take what i can get. and who doesn't want some fur in the snow? i feel like a polar bear.
and just so you all know, i really appreciate your comments. they just really make my day.

beards are sexy
back to taking pictures inside because the dreaded freezing rain has started.
i got these trousers yesterday whilst thrifting. i saw a post on second skin about menswear inspired fashion and i really wanted to try it out. i'd been thinking about it, especially since seeing so many people wearing high-waisted, pleated trousers, but when i read her blog, that just sealed the deal. so i guess this is my take on the trend. i paired it with my "beards are sexy" shirt that matt got me for christmas off of etsy and my pearls to give it some femininity. i'm sure you guys are dead tired of me wearing this cardigan! sorry, but i just love it. it's really warm and cozy without being suffocating.
i feel like my wardrobe needs a shake up. not anything major, but just a few more unexpected pieces. and by unexpected, i mean things that i don't typically wear. you know when your outfits get a bit stale and your inspiration stagnant? that's how i feel. i need a shake up and these trousers are a great start.

half price
around here we're gearing up for the big snow/ice storm that is apparently headed this way tomorrow. i'm hoping it's not as bad as all that.
today was a nice day. started out with a run, then to my shop, and then i went to my favorite thrift store. it's half price wednesday. boy do i love wednesdays. actually, i bought these gloves there about a month ago and i think they were $1.50. not too bad. today, i bought a skirt, a pair of high waist trousers, shoes, two shirts for my son, and a shirt for matt for $13.50. i love half price wednesdays!!!

contrasts
today is such a beautiful, sunny day. not a cloud in the sky. days like this make me long for spring. there's so much warmth in the sunshine that i forget it's still january. apparently we're in for some snow at the end of the week so i'm trying to soak up all the rays that i can!
because of the sun, there were some pretty intense shadows on the deck. i like the contrast of the light and dark. kinda similar to the contrast of my mostly rustic outfit and my lace tights. i love these tights. they make me feel all girly.
pretty little things

windy days and mondays
out on the deck where it was very windy, but i'm determined to take more pictures outside. the lighting is just so much better.
my store is closed on mondays, but i still find it hard to start the week. i feel a bit lazy and unmotivated. i try and clean house but it's so hard to get going! does anyone else feel like that?

up on the roof
here is matt on the roof of the salon next door to us. the yellow chairs are on our deck and the wall in the background is the outside of our building. i love that he totally supports me in everything i do and that he even wants to contribute to this blog. he has a pretty rad style all his own. i convinced him to start a chictopia account. there's such a small male representation out there.
easy like sunday afternoon
we loves us some football over here. this afternoon was spent watching the afc championship game and right now we're watching the nfc game. good stuff. so with all that said, this was a pretty casual day.
i got my blouse at a goodwill and i just love the sheer sleeves and the little flutter cuff. it makes me feel a bit feminine even when wearing all black. my owl necklace is from etsy, and matt got it for me for christmas. i think it's so cute and whimsical.
i tried to go for the romantic braid look. i wish my hair was long enough for one of those elegant side braids. that's my goal: grow my hair out just so i can put it in a side braid!

pearls and peeptoes
i rarely wear heels because they tend to hurt my feet too much but these have a low profile so i can stand them longer than most. and i really love the peeptoe! but this is what i wore at my shop today. i didn't make it clear in my meet and greet post, but my shop is called amandromeda. that is my name on chictopia. i use it for everything. it dates back to high school and that was quite some time ago! but here we are on our way out between rain showers. it rained all day so we had to wait until almost dark to take outside pictures. i really want to do more of them. i haven't posted one outside pic on chictopia, but i am determined to start. the handsome fella in the last pic is my husband matt. he's posed in front of his '82 volkswagon rabbit that we call "high life." i'm chilling in front of my '84 mercedes named "pauli girl." we do love our cars.
the first picture is right outside our front door. we live above a flower shop. i love how the stop sign in the background glows like the sun. but isn't my street charming?

meet and greet
well, hello. my name is amanda.
and i started this blog because i've been stalking other people's fashion blogs for a while and posting my outfits on chictopia for a few months. i just thought it would be fun and it would be a way to share my style and my inspiration. i named my blog "of off broadway" because i both work and live on broadway in siloam springs, arkansas. neat, huh? i own a vintage furniture and clothing shop and it is my dream. i also live in a renovated loft down the street from my store with my amazing husband and our silly five year old son. we are having a blast. i hope you enjoy reading my blog. and i'm excited for us to get to know one another!
