rooftop weekend

we had a nice relaxing weekend.  i worked at the shop, got new running shoes, sipped some bourbon on the deck, watched the sun shine through the rain, listened to music, and took a sunday nap.  not too shabby.  here's hoping monday turns out just as lovely.

i recently did a total rearrange of my shop.  i kinda love this new setup and wanted to share it with you.  there's still a lot of stuff i want to do, but it's fun to get a different perspective every once in a while :)

in a name

some may say it's a vest, i prefer to call it a sleeveless denim jacket.  but whatever name you choose, it all translates to RAD.  because a garment like this is the best of both worlds.  it marries old school hip with bad girl sass.  yep.  i call it a winner.

you know how sometimes you have a shirt that you don't wear anymore and you think about how nice it would be to have a new skirt and then you grab that shirt and cut off the arms and sew it all up nice and tidy??  well i do strange things sometimes, like make skirts from shirts.  and a diy skirt is just begging to be paired with a vintage beach crop top.  ahhhhh, it's just another amazing summer day in the AR.

enjoying my independence

i am forever thankful for the men and women who fight for my freedom each and every day.  it is their sacrifices that make the simple things in life so spectacular.  like lounging by the pool, eating my weight in watermelon, sipping wine in the twilight, and watching fire explode in the sky.  thanks america.

sleeveless

sometimes i go all wild, grab my scissors and hack into my clothing.  i was jonesing for a tank top and decided that i could just make my own.  no need to search around the thrift for one.  it was kind of the perfect top to wear on a super hot saturday.  it was cool and comfortable.  and if i don't exercise restraint, i do believe more of my t-shirts will suffer the same fate as the rolling stones.
