in the air

i feel the gentle tug of fall.  i was *this close* to wearing boots with this outfit instead of my sandals.  but my stubbornness would hear of no such thing.  i know that labor day is monday and so is the unofficial end of summer, but i just want to hang on a bit longer.  boots will be a necessity in the coming months.  for now, sandals all the way baby.

gucci

last week i had the privilege of going through the closets of a rather wealthy lady in our community.  a couple hours and a few garbage bags later, i had some amazing new additions for the shop...and a couple things for me.  so as i'm tagging clothes and setting out purses and belts, a friend is going behind me checking out the new digs.  she eyes this clutch and says 'i think this is gucci.'  i said 'wha????'  she says 'gucci.'  i said 'sho nuff.'  so yeah, this girlie came home with me that day.

wearing no makeup.  
i love mondays.  i run, i thrift, i relax, i clean.  and there's no mascara, foundation, or eye shadow in sight.  it's no makeup monday, yo.

i've been into this album for a while now, but just recently it's crossed over into obsession.  haunting lyrics and resonating beats keep this pretty much on repeat in my house.

reading 'a reliable wife.'
i bought this book on saturday and so far i'm really diggin it.  it has an intriguing plot line and his writing style is a bit halting and choppy, which is basically how i write and speak and think.  give it a try if you are book shopping.

training for something.
sounds vague right?  well it's because i'm undecided.  i'll def run a half marathon this fall but i'm jonesin' to get another full under my belt.  but no matter what i decide, i've scheduled myself a 10 miler today so i best get to it :)

lazy florals

i'm trying desperately to get back into the swing of things.  vacation last week made me laaaaaaazzzyyyyyyyyyy.  well, lazier.  truth be told, i'm not the most self-motivated gal i know.  which is also why wearing a sheer floral shift dress seemed the perfect thing to throw on for my first day back to the shop, life, and reality.

goodbye summer

what an awesome vacation we had in gulf shores last week!  much needed time of relaxing and recharging before life picks up again.  now it's back to school and goodbye summer.  well, at least i have great memories to look back on.  this was summer was pretty epic.

friday mixers

so it's friday.  but this is no ordinary friday.  it's the friday before i leave for vacation!!!  sunday morning will see me and the little boy head down to gulf shores for the week with some friends.  we're pretty excited.  it's a last hurrah before school starts and we have to say farewell to summer.  hopefully i'll come back with some pictures to share, but as we all know, i'm not the photographer in the family.  but you can be sure that i'll be instagramming like a fiend so follow along if you dare.

you guys know i love a good t-shirt, right?  and you know i love instagram, right?  so then you know that combining the two would be a dream come true.  not long ago, a nifty little company named instapparel started up where you can upload any instagram photo to their site and they'll screenprint a shirt for you!  as soon as i heard about it, i knew exactly what photo i wanted to use.  i love this pic of isaiah that matt took while we were in oklahoma city for the marathon back in april.  it's super easy to make your custom tee and they have a lot of options for shirt colors and photo placement.  seriously a really fun idea.  i'm already thinking of new ones to print!
