speakeasy
as promised, here are more pics from the halloween party of the century last saturday night. seriously, i keep thinking about things that happened and i start cracking up. i do apologize about the quality and seeming randomness of these photos as i stole every last one of them from facebook. i was obviously too busy dancing on stage and on table tops to remember to document the evening. that's the sure sign of a good time, amiright?
but this afternoon i will be handing out 3000 pieces of candy to little ghouls and goblins and princesses and super heroes in front of my shop downtown. i plan on dressing up as an 80s homecoming queen. should be good times.
have fun and stay safe tonight!!

photobooth party
saturday night, my most excellent friend jen hosted her 6th annual halloween party. this years theme: 1920s speakeasy. my oh my. i had me some fun. i danced pretty much nonstop from 8pm til 1am. needless to say, sunday was spent nursing my sore legs and laying around. but it was an epic party filled with laughs and crazy memories. i will have more pics later but thought i'd share a few from the photobooth that night.

man flannel
matt was surprised to see that i was wearing his shirt yesterday when he got home from work. i was all, 'hey, what's yours is mine, buddy.' ok, no i didn't say that. he already knows :)

sassy and vintage
a few months ago, i was given a fabulous dress from a wonderful friend. the dress? this 80s-tastic alligator print with sassy, and maybe suggestive, design details. the friend? paige from barefoot and vintage. i love how perfect the color is for fall and how surprisingly modern it felt with the jacket and booties. and well, matt really liked it too :) thanks for the perfect dress, paige!

concert season
a few weeks ago, matt and i hopped in the car with some friends and drove over to the cain's ballroom to see the head and the heart play in tulsa. it was SUCH a good show. the venue was super rad. it's an old country music hall where bar fights were the usual and the rafters are open. now, loads of bands from all over the musical map come to perform. you can even buy a 6pack. but the band was even better than i had thought possible. and when they sang down in the valley, the audience went crazy!
tuesday night, matt and i went to see the avett brothers. whoa. high energy and super fun. i've never seen banjo playing like that which scott avett can jam. as an outdoor venue in october, it was a bit chilly for my bones. but i managed to jig enough to keep myself from freezing. and isn't head full of doubt/road full of promise just the best song EVER?! listening to the band live made me fall in love with them all over again.

plaid, camo, and converse
yesterday was warm and sunny and made me long for summer even though fall is only a few weeks old. and i wanted to take advantage of the unseasonable temps with bare legs and light layers. i paired my favorite vintage pencil skirt with plaid and camo then threw on a fun new necklace. the necessity of the converse is resultant of logging many tiring miles while training for my marathon next month. it may not be the most fashion-forward of sartorial choices, but sometimes comfort trumps chic.

pleather suit
i've been hearing that short suits are all the rage in the fashionable circles. so i thought, well what about a pleather short suit? at first i questioned my sanity and general taste in clothes and things, but i do like how it worked out and made my hoodie more 'outside the house' appropriate. and i will take any opportunity to wear this sweatshirt as it is my favorite sweatshirt of all time. OF ALL TIME.
