on our way to dinner one night

we decided to walk to dinner last night. our first choice was the thai place about a half mile away, but they were closed. so instead we trekked down the street and around the corner to the mediterranean restaurant called emelia's. it was super fun. isaiah fell a couple times, but other than that, we made the journey safely with only runny noses.

dinner was delicious! by the time we left, most of the bar area was full of people who were so glad to get out of the house.

today the sun is shining and some of the snow is actually melting! which is good because we have a birthday party to go to later. anyway, hope you all have a fabulous saturday!!

wow. there is currently a blizzard outside my door. but i'm sitting awfully cozy on my sofa, blogging, drinking coffee, listening to my boys play. these are the best days: at home, with no where to go and nothing to do, but relax and hang out...and play tackle football in the living room. but i am the happiest of all when we are together. i love my little family :)

so all of you who are also affected by this crazy storm, be safe and stay warm! i made sure we were well stocked with wine. while everyone around here flocked to the grocery stores to buy out the bread, i went to the liquor store. you gotta have priorities, you know. we may run out of milk, but the wine will still be flowing.

we got a pretty good little snow storm overnight last night. good enough for a snow day for the whole family. those are the best. slept in, isaiah had a friend over for a couple hours, went to the store, ran, played in the snow....fun times. now we're about to make some lentil soup and drink some wine. sounds delightful, no?

i took a bunch of pictures on my phone while running and playing in the park but instagram is being a little cranky so i can't send them to flickr quite yet. when i get around to battling with the phone, i'll share those too. you'll get to see a bit more of my cute little town :)

so this is what our teeny little snow looked like late yesterday afternoon. although the temperature was a balmy 22 degrees at the warmest, a lot of snow melted with the sun. at 4:00 there wasn't much to be had except what was in the shadows. of course that also made photo taking FLIPPIN FREEZING. that's why you don't ever see my hands. i'm trying desperately to keep them from frostbite! but i know how fortunate i am and i hope that all of you in the boston area are safe and warm :)

and i don't wanna be all 'me, me, me. i'm the best' but i will say that my hair looked awesome yesterday. just wanted to put that out there. usually the winter is not kind to me and my hair will get dull and stringy because it's so dry. i don't know what it was, but i kinda felt pretty!

matt suggested i do more artistic cropping. so here's my attempt at it.

there's kind of a lot of pictures today. i'm telling you, it's because i felt pretty. keep that in mind: lots of pictures=i feel pretty, few pictures/not looking at camera=NOT feeling pretty. simple formula.
